We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Bundaberg .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

I became interested in photography back in the film days. Became serious about photography 20 odd years ago. I bought my first DSLR then. A canon 20D with an 18 - 55mm lens. Also had a 200 - 500mm because I was photographing working dogs and wildlife. I have been doing that ever since. My interest has widened in the last couple of years. I now do some still life, landscape and pet portraits.

I went to the wetlands early to photograph water birds but became so fascinated by the ice formations that I focused on them. I spent so much time in photographing the frost that I completely missed the water birds that morning.

Title or Location: Sandy Hook at Branyan
I was looking to shoot some rural scenes when I stumbled on this old beauty in Branyan near Sandy Hook. It had all of the elements that I was looking for and presented itself for that perfect shot. the lighting was perfect, the tonal range was perfect, all in all, just a perfect shot. I uploaded all of the shot that I had taken that afternoon to the cloud, some days later when reviewing the images I managed to lose all of the images except for this one.Nikon D800, 28mm focal length, f22 @ 1

Title or Location: This Still Life Photograph of "Grapes, Strawberry's and Wine" was taken in my bedroom in Orange County California.
This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.
